Uttar Pradesh teacher eligibility test is a state-level entrance examination conducted by the Uttar Pradesh Education Board. It is conducted once every year to recruit eligible candidates as teachers for primary and upper primary classes. The teachers get posted across various Government and government-aided schools in Uttarakhand and Dehradun. UPTET is considered as the minimum qualification necessary to be eligible for an appointment as a school teacher. UPTET Examination Summary
Before discussing the details of the examination, let us have an overview of UPTET 2021. It will help candidates to plan their teaching careers. UPTET examination is conducted in two different sessions. The primary level exam is held in the morning session, and the upper primary level examination is conducting in the evening. According to an announcement made by the Uttar Pradesh Education Department, there are 51011 seats across different state schools. These vacancies will be merging with existing posts there by taking the total number of vacant posts to 68500.
Application Form
The registration process for the examination started on 7th October 2021 and will continue till 26th October 2021. Every applicant should provide a valid mobile number, email id, photograph, signature, and necessary documents when filling the application form. Examination Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the primary teacher level examination, Paper 1, the candidate must satisfy any of the following criteria.
- The candidate should clear graduation along with basic certificate training for distance education. Candidates in the final year of graduation can also apply for the exam.
- Candidates should clear graduation in any discipline from a recognized institution University. After completion of graduation, the candidate needs to pursue your diploma in elementary education.
- The applicant must clear graduation or post-graduation with a minimum of 50% marks. The candidate should also be pursuing a bachelor of education.
- Candidates should clear graduation or post-graduation with 45% marks and along with a completed B.Ed.
Eligibility Criteria for Upper Primary Level Teachers
The candidate must satisfy one of the below-mentioned UPTET eligibility criteria to be eligible for the upper primary level teacher examination.
- Candidate must have completed graduation from a recognized University along with two of your BTC.
- Applicants must have cleared graduation for post-graduation with a minimum of 50% marks. Along with it, they should complete B. Ed special education.
Age limit and relaxation
- The age of the candidate should be between 18 and 35 years when applying for the UPTET examination.
Selection Process
The UPTET examination includes two pieces. Paper 1 is for candidates who want to teach classes 1 to 5. Paper 2 for candidates who plan to teach classes 6 to 8. Candidates willing to teach classes 1 to 8 require appearing for both papers.

Validity of UPTET
Earlier, the marks scored by a candidate in the UPTET examination were only valid for five years from the issue date. However, since 2011, the validity of the certification has been for lifetime validity.
