6 Effective Remedies to Flush Out the Anxiety Out of Your Life

Exercise 

As I mentioned earlier, I prefer taking the natural route when it comes to alleviating stress and anxiety. Speaking of the natural route, one cannot skip lifestyle rehabilitation, which includes regular exercise. 

As you know, two of the most prominent symptoms of chronic anxiety are irritable mood and low energy. Exercise, when done regularly, can increase the amount of happy chemicals in your bloodstream. Resultantly, it can fix the crankiness you experience as well as boost your energy. 

Besides that, anxiety doesn’t require you to follow any particular exercise. From half an hour of swimming to a few minutes of morning walk, an increase in physical activity is the key.

It’s one way to treat persistent anxiety from the root cause. For this, you can either hire a masseuse or visit a spa once a week. In case you’re not comfortable with the given options, you can purchase a massage chair and enjoy personalized massage therapies in the comfort of your home. 

Chair massage therapies are equally beneficial; thus, there’s nothing to worry about. In fact, 10-15 minutes of chair massage therapy provides you with equal benefits compared to a 50-minute massage session at a spa, so it’s the best option for those who struggle with their time.

A Balanced Diet 

Fourth and one of the most important factors in determining your mental health is your diet. It affects you both physically and mentally. In fact, several foods and beverages negatively contribute to your anxiety levels. 

For example, foods and beverages with caffeine can increase your anxiety levels. Caffeine is a stimulant that temporarily makes you feel light but it actually increases your anxiety. Albeit the caffeine tolerance level varies from person to person. 

Therefore, it is suggested to avoid caffeine intake as much as you can. In case you cannot leave it altogether, you should at least reduce your caffeine intake. It will make a prominent difference within a few days.

Anti-Anxiety Medications

In case nothing else works, it’s time you turn towards anti-anxiety medications. But you must ensure to consult a certified physician before you do. Anti-anxiety medications, as mentioned earlier, bring along various side effects.  

Let me share with you a few common side effects of anti-anxiety medicines, particularly benzodiazepines, so you know where you’re heading. Dizziness, nausea, appetite suppression, excessive sleepiness or insomnia, dry mouth, dehydration are a few common experienced side effects.

Cognitive-behavioral therapy will help break down your anxiety-related issues positively. One session of CBT per week is more than enough if you wish to recover permanently. Again, it’s going to be a little slow and requires consistency for fruitful results.
